Man stabbed on Saturday night

A man was stabbed around 9:30 p. m. Saturday, according to Bend Police. The stabbing took place at 330 S. E.

 

Mountain biker who died on trail identified

The 62-year-old man who died biking on the Lava/Edison mountain bike trail Friday has been identified as Wesley C. Pierson, 62, of Redmond.The man collapsed while riding near Little Lava Lake. According to the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office, Pierson’s friends called 911 to report that he collapsed shortly before 2 p.m.

Fatal crash — Police say a teenager from Washington state died Saturday in a rollover crash that injured six others near Chiloquin. Oregon State Police Lt. Steve Mitchell says a Jeep Cherokee driven by 44-year-old Olga Rivera-Chavez of Sunnyside, Wash., was southbound on U. S. Highway 97 when it drifted to the shoulder. The vehicle returned to the highway, but rolled multiple times. A 15-year-old girl from Prosser, Wash., was ejected from the front passenger seat and pronounced dead at the scene.

New fire near Sisters lined

A lightning-sparked wildfire that broke out near Sisters Friday afternoon was fully lined and contained as of midday Saturday.The Geneva 14 fire, 15 miles northeast of Sisters, burned 154 acres before crews with the Oregon Department of Forestry completed a line around the fire early Saturday.r>More than 800 lightning strikes associated with a thunderstorm Friday afternoon sparked several fires across eastern Oregon, including three totaling 631 acres near The Dalles.
