It’s almost that time when America pauses to salute veterans for their patriotism, service and sacrifice in the name of freedom. Veterans Day, celebrated on Nov. 11 every year, commemorates the signing of the armistice to end World War I on Nov. 11, 1918. In South Florida, cities are joining forces with veterans’ and nonprofit groups, businesses and even a sports team to honor members of all military branches for their dedication to the country. If you’d like to show your appreciation for veterans, or you’re a veteran looking to take part in commemorative events, we’ve rounded up activities taking place in Broward and Palm Beach counties in our list below. Feeding South Florida, the Florida Panthers and Publix will have a Veterans Appreciation Luncheon at 11 a.m.
