After a successful fundraising campaigning netted more than $9 million, the United Way of the Coastal Empire said thanks to those who “give, advocate and volunteer” during their annual meeting and awards luncheon at the Savannah Marriott Riverfront on Wednesday. More than 300 people attended the event to reflect on accomplishments achieved during 2015, honor this year’s Spirit of Community Award recipients and introduce new board members, board executive committee members and the campaign chair for 2016. Outgoing board chair Pratt Summers said he is proud to see his community come together to raise $9 million. “The impact we provide to our community is so important,” he added.
