Oregon State Police troopers made 39 DUII arrests statewide between Dec. 31 and 6 a.m. on Jan. 1, including 4 arrests out of the Springfield command office.

DeFazio says Congress could still act to avert fiscal cliff on Jan. 1

With the clock ticking down Monday, U.S. Rep. Peter DeFazio said that if an agreement wasn’t reached on New Year’s Eve to avert the so-called fiscal cliff, Congress could still act on New Year’s Day to reinstate tax relief for Americans and to limit proposed spending cuts.
