The boil water advisory for parts of Rochester Hills has been lifted.The Oakland County Health Division said Friday afternoon, July 13, that the results of the most recent water test samples indicate no bacterial contamination of the water system. Residents can return to consuming water as normal after completing precautionary measures.

Hidden historic gems uncovered during building rehab in downtown Pontiac

A group of developers are currently renovating 29 North Saginaw St. in downtown Pontiac. The 30,000 square-foot, three-floor building was erected in 1865, once the home of Enggass Jewelry Co. Decades of development covered up the building's original craftsmanship, such as hand-laid black and white marble flooring and brick walls hidden under cedar siding.

Southfield man charged in crash that killed 2

A Southfield man is facing three felony charges in connection with a car crash that killed his two passengers july 10.Armond Humes, 20, is charged with operating while intoxicated causing death and two counts of failure to stop at the scene of an accident when at fault, resulting in death. Magistrate Markeisha Washington set his bond at $1 million at his July 12 arraignment in Southfield's 46th district court.

 

Pontiac's Phoenix Center settlement agreement deadline sees extension

At a recent Pontiac City Council meeting, Pontiac's Mayor Deirdre Waterman gave a short update to the ongoing discussions regarding a tentative settlement agreement over the Phoenix Center. Oakland Community Health Network hosting mental health training for law enforcement officers

The Oakland Community Health Network, in partnership with the Oakland Police Academy Center, is hosting a week-long mental health training session for local law enforcement officers.On Monday, August 13, officers will begin participating in a 40-hour course to learn about topics related to mental illness that include medications, substance abuse disorders, suicide, and de-escalation strategies utilizing role-playing scenarios.
