PennDOT lists road work, closures in Delaware County

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation expects an $11.2 million resurfacing project across the county to continue in Haverford this week.The work schedule will take place between Aug. 5 and Aug. 10 in the following locations:. Ellis Road and Ardmore Avenue, from 7 p.m. to 5 a.

100 Years Ago - 1918: President Wilson will come to Hog Island in Tinicum today as the guest of the United State Shipping Board to see the first launching at the Hog Island shipyard. Mrs. Wilson will be the sponsor for the Quistconck, named by her poetically from the Indian name for Hog Island. Ninety thousand patriots are expected to be on hand, the greatest gathering that has ever attended a launching.

Notre Dame de Lourdes School's new principal readies for school year

RIDLEY >> When the 2018-19 school year commences and the doors open at Notre Dame de Lourdes School on Sept. 5, the students and faculty will officially welcome their new principal, Diana Pileggi, who assumed the leadership role on July 1.Additionally, the Rev. Joseph Devlin, who was installed as pastor of Our Lady of Peace Church on June 17, is also new to his leadership role at Notre Dame de Lourdes School, located in the Swarthmorewood section of the township.
