Bryn Mawr Trust faces more bias claims

Four current and former employees of Bryn Mawr Trust Corp. have now filed discrimination claims with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission alleging various employment law violations on the part of the financial institution.Each of the complainants is a black female represented by Bryn Mawr attorney Mark Schwartz, who said he was "inundated" with calls from bank employees after filing the first claim in April for teller Wandrea Russo.

 

Wallingford's Jessica Mazzeo turns grief into purposeful action

It's been six years since the day Jessica Mazzeo answered her phone and heard shattering newsIt was August 8, 2012, and her friend Danielle Coverdale Basciano was calling to say their close friend Joe Fritz had shot himself that morning at a shooting range. He was 32."I was stunned, speechless, and I immediately broke into tears," said Mazzeo, then 31.

American Legion Post 777: will be hosting our annual corn boil Aug. 11 , from 1-5 p.m. on the posts grounds, located at 137 Walter St. This is the Post's major fundraiser for the year, all proceeds go toward the support of the post. 100 Years Ago - 1918: For the purpose of providing proper school and church accommodations for the thousands of new people who will reside in the Chester and Sun shipbuilding companies' new community centers, a meeting of the engineers of the church and school work of the Emergency Fleet Corp. will be held this afternoon in the offices of the Chamber of Commerce in the Cambridge Building.
