People, their children and their dogs need to respect another dog’s space. Maybe your dog is friendly, but there’s may not be. Maybe their dog doesn’t want interaction for some reason.
Don’t let your dog be on another’s rear; don’t let them wander in another’s face. Always ask before interaction. It’s happened to me waiting on photos at animal fundraisers and practicing for competition in public places.

HARROD — Bryce Belcher ran for a pair of touchdowns and also threw a pair of TD passes as host Allen East defeated Perry 24-14 Friday night.
Lucas Freeman and Cole Fletcher caught the TD passes from Belcher, who completed 8 of 16 passes for 92 yards. Kyle Nickles led the 1-1 Mustangs on the ground with 91 yards on 18 attempts.
JT Taviano ran 74 yards for one Perry touchdown and Louie Hoersten connected with Luke Floyd on an 82-yard pass play for the other TD by the Commodores (0-2).

LIMA — Lima Senior got big plays on offense and big stops on defense to post a 55-24 win over Eastmoor Academy in the Spartans’ home opener Friday night.
Lima Senior improves to 2-0 on the season. Eastmoor drops to 1-1.
Similar to last week, the Spartans dominated in the second half. Lima Senior, which held a slim 20-18 at the end of the first quarter outscored the Warriors 35-6 the rest of the way to record the victory.

BATH TOWNSHIP — Elida quarterback Isaac McAdams was looking for a spark to get his team rolling.
He found it when his Bulldogs recovered the kickoff to start the third quarter.
McAdams fired a TD on the first play after the recovery, and Elida ended up rolling to a 49-21 victory over Bath Friday at Bath Stadium.
Elida led 14-7 at the half, but numerous penalties had slowed down the Elida attack.
When Elida’s Arzaiah Little forced the fumble on the second-half kickoff and Charles Brown recovered, Elida took over at the Bath 20.

OTTAWA — Turnovers can quickly swing the momentum of a football game. More often than not, turnovers will determine the outcome.
Friday’s Western Buckeye League opener between Ottawa-Glandorf and visiting St. Marys was a prime example.
St. Marys took advantage of a couple O-G turnovers down the stretch, en route to a hard-fought 21-13 victory over the Titans.
For the game, O-G had four turnovers, while St. Marys committed three.

DETROIT — Mike Clevinger pitched six sharp innings and the Cleveland Indians swept a day-night doubleheader, routing the Detroit Tigers 10-0 Friday for their ninth straight win.
The AL Central-leading Indians won the opener 3-2 on Francisco Lindor’s tiebreaking single in the ninth inning.
Roberto Perez homered and drove in three runs to back Clevinger (8-5).
Clevinger allowed three hits, struck out six and walked one. In three starts against the Tigers this year — all wins — he has given up one run in 18 innings.

PITTSBURGH — Adam Duvall drove in two runs to lead the Cincinnati Reds to a 7-3 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Friday night.
Duvall broke the game open in the first inning with a two-run single off Pirates starter Gerrit Cole. He singled and scored in the third and reached on a wild pitch and scored in the eighth.
Scooter Gennett had three hits for the Reds, including a triple off the top of the center field wall to lead off the sixth inning.

LIMA — A former Delphos resident is asking for donations for her school district for students and staff members that have lost everything during Hurricane Harvey.
Paige Ricker, daughter of Dave and Jennifer Ricker, of Delphos, is a teacher in the Houston area that has been hit by Hurricane Harvey. Paige is a 2011 graduate of Delphos Jefferson and a 2015 graduate of Bowling Green State University. She moved to Texas in December 2014 to student teach in Houston and ended up working in Houston at the same district that she student taught in.

LEIPSIC — Leipsic and Gilboa have jointly applied for a U.S. Department of Commerce, Economic Development Administration grant for the purpose of providing a supplementary source of raw water to the Yellow Creek Reservoir by building an intake station on the Blanchard River and connecting it to the reservoir.
