Schumer lays out plan to shore up sagging Teamster pensions

U.S. Sen. Charles Schumer on Monday offered a bit of hope to the approximately 16,000 retired Teamsters who, starting in October, saw a 29 percent reduction in their pensions."There's opposition to it. But we have real leverage," Schumer said to members of Teamsters Local 294, also known as the Upstate Teamsters. He was speaking of a proposal that his fellow Democrats are offering in Congress.
