TV Ratings: 'Iron Man,' 'Blue Bloods' repeat lead Black Friday split

CBS procedural repeats and FOX's broadcast of the first "Iron Man" film led the way on a rather sluggish post-holiday Friday night. Among adults 18-49, FOX averaged a 1.2 rating, tops in the key demographic. The other networks were close behind with ABC's 1.1 rating and the 1.0 ratings for CBS and NBC. The CW averaged a 0.4 rating for the night.

Charlie Brown beats Lady Gaga in Thanksgiving ratings

Charlie Brown beats Lady Gaga in Thanksgiving ratings

It’s the Big Bang Theory, Charlie Brown! All the Thanksgiving specials Thursday night couldn’t hold a candle to a repeat of the CBS comedy, which delivered 11.2 million viewers and a 3.6 adult demo rating. Compare that to ABC’s Charlie Brown Thanksgiving (5.8 million, 1.8) and A Very Gaga Thanksgiving (5.4 million, 1.6 — more on that one here) and NBC’s 85th Anniversary of the Thanksgiving Day Parade (3.7 million, 1.1) and Happiness is a Warm Blanket Charlie Brown (5 million, 1.6). The best-performing special was Fox’s Ice Age: Mammoth Christmas (7.1 million, 2.3), despite the network getting the holiday wrong. And at least we can take comfort in Charlie Brown topping Lady Gaga, right?

Low-rated 'Charlie's Angels' grounded by ABC

Low-rated 'Charlie's Angels' grounded by ABC

ABC says its revamped version of the 1970s hit "Charlie's Angels" is being shut down after only four airings because of low ratings.

Senh: I thought this show would do better. I haven't seen any of the episodes, but I thought the concept would work - hot women, action, and gadgets. You have a potential audience of both sexes. But apparently I thought wrong.

TV: ‘Last Man Standing’ has last laugh on critics

TV: ‘Last Man Standing’ has last laugh on critics

Guess what is shaping up as the biggest hit of the new TV season? Tim Allen’s retro “manly man emasculated” sitcom, “Last Man Standing.” TV critics loathed it — but 13.2 million viewers liked it. That’s TV’s biggest 8 p.m. comedy debut in more than seven years. And the new 8 o’clock comedy opened on its own. No watch-us-kill-Charlie-Sheen-and-put-his-ashes-in-a-DustBuster lead-in audience of 30 million here!

Senh: It's good to know that Tim Allen still has a TV career to fall back on now that his film career has floundered. Maybe he can get back to his feet on TV land, and then reboot his film career again later.

NBC got a big Sunday Night Football performance out of the game between the Falcons and Packers, which improved dramatically on last week's football telecast and helped the network dominate the night in all measures.

TV Ratings: Another Friday win for CBS, 'Fringe' rises

CBS continues to dominate Fridays, with solid numbers for "A Gifted Man," "CSI: NY" and "Blue Bloods." It helped that NBC and ABC's slate were largely made up of repeats. "Fringe" rose, while "Supernatural" and "Nikita" saw a slight decline in viewer numbers.

'Playboy Club' canceled by NBC

Ratings premiered low and then dropped each week; just 3.4M viewers, 1.2 rating in adult demo last night

TV Ratings: 'Men,' 'Dancing' pace a Monday split, while 'Terra Nova' holds

Despite a second consecutive week of huge drops, the Ashton Kutcher-ized "Two and a Half Men" remains a major hit and combined with the the network's resurgent 8 p.m. hour to give CBS an easy Monday win among young viewers. Meanwhile, although ABC's "Dancing with the Stars" slipped with young viewers, it actually grew slightly overall, as ABC ruled Monday in that measure.
