Comedian Louie Anderson says he's been in pain all week from a recent diving mishap during a taping of the ABC celebrity diving show "Splash." Anderson, who weighs more than 400 pounds, was trying to do a flip from the 5-meter board when he slammed into the water, landing on his face and chest.

Two popular reality shows made a splash upon their re-entry during the past week – and a new one had a strong debut. A new episode of "Dancing With the Stars" premiered on ABC last week before 17 million viewers, just behind CBS drama "NCIS" as the week's most popular program. It was down to 14.5 million Monday night, facing competition from the return of "The Voice" on NBC.

A slightly rising episode of "The Following" and a slightly falling episode of "Bones" helped FOX hold off ABC for Monday wins, with an asterisk, in key measures.

Fox's "American Idol" continues to lose ratings ground on Wednesday, with ABC's "Modern Family" appearing to have edged it out as the night's top show among young adults for the first time. In another first, NBC's rookie drama "Chicago Fire" edged past CBS vet "CSI" to win the 10 o'clock hour in demos.

Kate Gosselin and Kendra Wilkinson set a ratings record for ABC on Tuesday night, while CBS’ latest detective drama delivered less-than golden numbers. The second season premiere of ABC’s Celebrity Wife Swap saddled Playboy pinup Wilkinson with Gosselin’s famed mega-litter (if only you could buy patience at Costco). The show was seen by 7 million viewers and had a 2.4 rating among adults 18-49. That’s up 4 percent from last year’s preview of the celebrity version of Wife Swap last year (and up 14 percent from last year’s regular Tuesday premiere) and represents an all-time high for the show among both viewers and the demo. Next week, “wives” Coolio and Mark McGrath do a swap.

Nearly six months after signing off ABC's "Good Morning America" to fight a life-threatening illness, Robin Roberts made her return to the top-rated morning show on Wednesday.

Veteran ABC newswoman Barbara Walters has fallen at an inauguration party in Washington and has been hospitalized....

ABC entertainment president Paul Lee says he's going to take a look at the long-gestating Star Wars live-action TV series now that the Disney deal to acquire Lucasfilm is complete. "We'd love to do something with Lucasfilm, we're not sure what yet," Lee exclusively told EW. "We haven't even sat down with them. We're going to look at [the live-action series], we're going to look at all of them, and see what's right. We weren't able to discuss this with them until [the acquisition] closed and it just closed. It's definitely going to be part of the conversation."

But as Monday nears, Seacrest is focused on this annual rite: "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest," which, with related programming, will blanket ABC from 8 p.m. until past 2 a.m. EST. Booking musical acts has been in the works for months, Seacrest says. Performers include Carly Rae Jepsen, Neon Trees, Flo Rida and Pitbull, as well as Taylor Swift, in the headliner position just before midnight.
