More retailers pull formula after Mo. infant death

Several more national retailers have joined Wal-Mart Stores Inc. in pulling a batch of powdered infant formula from their shelves.

Wal-Mart says it has recalled a quantity of infant formula this week after a baby died in Missouri... Wal-Mart said it is pulled a batch of Enfamil from its stores nationwide that matched the size and lot number of the formula that may have sickened the baby in Missouri, Gee said. That lot number is ZP1K7G. The baby formula was purchased from a Wal-Mart in Lebanon, Missouri. After the purchase, a 10-day-old infant died from a rare bacterial infection, CNN affiliate KYTV reported.

My daughter participated in a Christmas gift exchange in her young-adult-usher ministry. Every teen but my daughter brought gift cards. She came with a movie to exchange. Her gift was not so popular. My, how times have changed. Forget the crazy-colored scarves or the overly bold-smelling lotion gift packs. The gift card is the go-to present when you don’t know what to get someone. My husband and I laughed that the teens could have put all the cards in a bowl and then selected the one each wanted.

A mother and her boyfriend have been accused of locking up a toddler by nailing the door to his bedroom shut, according to a report. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that Cindy Marie Cantu, 24, and Kyle Erwin Skinner, 23, of Marietta, Ga., were facing charges for child cruelty and contributing to the delinquency of minors.
