WISE – Four years ago, a helicopter drone carried a box of medical supplies from Lonesome Pine Airport to the Remote Area Medical clinic at the Wise Fairgrounds.
On Thursday, state and federal legislators joined officials of Wise County, the Virginia Department of Aviation and the company that flew that flight gathered at the airport to unveil a sign honoring the significance of that July 17, 2015 flight.
