Races To Benefit Sullivan County Swat

BLOUNTVILLE — The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office is encouraging public participation in their Scorpion 5K Run & 2 Mile Walk. The event is Sunday, Sept. 8, but discounted pre-registration ends this coming Sunday. According to an SCSO press release, proceeds from the event will purchase much-needed equipment and safety gear for the SCSO Special Weapons and Tactics team. “As with any type of equipment or tools needed for a professional job, the SWAT team’s equipment is aging,” said Sheriff Jeff Cassidy.
