It’s Greeneville, and these days that name carries plenty of weight to the high school football field. The two-time defending Class 4A state champion will travel to take on Class 5A Daniel Boone on Friday night with kickoff set for 7:30 in Gray. “We are excited about this matchup with one of the top programs in the state,” said Boone head coach Jeremy Jenkins. Greeneville is 0-1 after its loss to Knox Powell, and the Trailblazers (1-0) opened with a 30-6 win over Sullivan South. Jenkins said Greeneville brings a trench mentality to each game. “Greeneville is a very talented team that really thrives on wanting to win the physical battle,” Jenkins said.
