BLOUNTVILLE — In recognition of World Rabies Day, the Tennessee Department of Health Rabies Control Service has scheduled rabies vaccination clinics for Thursday, Sept. 28 at 6 p.m. at various locations in Sullivan County. The cost is $10 per animal. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), “Rabies is a preventable viral disease of mammals, most often transmitted through the bite of a rabid animal” that occurs “in wild animals like raccoons, skunks, bats, and foxes.
