KINGSPORT - David Lee Clark, 72, Kingsport, passed away Friday, August 23, 2019, at Holston Valley Medical Center.
Dave was born in Big Stone Gap, VA to the late Palmer and Leola Clark.
Dave Retired from Eastman after 38 years as a Capital Project Coordinator, and then continued to work part time for an additional 10 years. He was a member of Central Church of Christ for the past 10 years. He loved spending time at the lake with his family, especially his grandkids.
Dave was stationed in Germany for a year while serving in the U.S. Army from 1967-1969.

Ronnie Wayne Mullins 67, passed away peacefully on Saturday (August 24, 2019) at his home.
He liked to spend time hunting, fishing and camping under the stars, fourwheeling, and spending time in the mountains with his friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents Chester Mullins and Ruth (Sheppard) Mullins brothers Chester (Shug) Mullins Roger Mullins, and Mark Mullins and special nephew Tim Mullins.
He is survived by his wife Frances Jean Coleman Mullins also special friends Doug and Donna Nickels other close relatives and friends.

Peggy Jo Fogle

KINGSPORT - Peggy Jo Fogle, 86, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at Holston Valley Medical Center after a brief illness.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 4:00 pm on Sunday, August 25, 2019 at Christ Fellowship Church with Pastor Derek Harden and Joe Mason officiating. The family will receive friends at the church following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Christ Fellowship Church, 1015 Rock Springs Rd., Kingsport, TN 37664.

 

Verlin Preston Droke

Verlin Droke, 97, died peacefully at his life-long home on August 18, 2019, after a period of declining health.
The family will receive friends Sunday, August 25, 2019, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Colonial Heights Methodist Church. The funeral service will follow at 4 p.m. with the Rev. Robert Burlingham officiating.
Burial will follow at Mount Lebanon Cemetery, beside the church.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

William Wicks Clevenger

KINGSPORT - William (Bill) Clevenger, 82, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on August 23, 2019 after a brief illness.
Born in Nashville, TN he resided in Kingsport most of his life. He was a graduate of Vanderbilt University and retired from Eastman Chemical Company in 1996 as a Chemical Engineer. He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church, Church Circle, Kingsport.
He is preceded in death by his parents, August Clevenger and Cory Wicks Clevenger.

 

Williams edges Shell for fifth Late Model Stock win of year

KINGSPORT — Nik Williams scored his fifth Late Model Stock win of the season and held serve with Zeke Shell in his pursuit of a first Kingsport Speedway track championship.
Williams, driving the No. 32 Chevrolet, battled past defending track champion Shell in the No. 1 Ford, which was held up by the slower car of Jimmy Acito on lap 19. Once out front, Williams pulled out to a 10 car-length victory in the 60-lap NASCAR All-American Series feature.
