CAIRO – Al-Qaida's branch in Yemen claimed responsibility Sunday for last year's deadly shooting at the Naval Air Station Pensacola by an aviation student from Saudi Arabia.

The shooter, 2nd Lt. Mohammed Saeed Alshamrani, was a member of the Saudi Air Force in training at the base. He opened fire inside a classroom at the base on Dec. 6, killing three people and wounding two sheriff’s deputies before one of the deputies killed him.

Along with the big game, those in the Woodstock area also had something else exciting to watch on Sunday, as Jeep officially aired a commercial it shot in the historic Woodstock square during the Super Bowl.

Jeep posted the commercial on its Facebook and Twitter pages earlier in the day, filmed partly on the Woodstock Square and based on the movie "Groundhog Day." As of Sunday afternoon, the video had gotten about 290,000 likes on Facebook and been viewed 3.4 million times on Twitter.

McHenry and Nunda Township Road District officials have named Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker in a lawsuit challenging a decision to afford voters to right to eliminate townships.

Pritzker signed a law in August allowing McHenry County voters to dissolve the area's 17 townships through referendum. The new law is an initiative to reduce property taxes in McHenry County by reducing levels of government. If a township is dissolved, its operations, property and employees would be transferred to the county government.
