After a decades-long ban on the uniform addition, Arapahoe County sheriff’s deputies will once again be allowed to don cowboy hats on patrol. The last time Arapahoe County deputies were allowed to wear cowboy hats was in the early 1980s, according to a social media post from the sheriff’s office. Cowboy hats are an optional addition to the uniform and deputies have to buy their own, the sheriff’s office said.
