Cleaning out the notebook on Ole Miss pro day

The most athletic performance of the day belonged to Derrick Jones, who played both wide receiver and defensive back during his college career. Jones had a 41-inch vertical jump, an 11-foot broad jump and ran 4.44 in the 40.
Wide receiver Quincy Adeboyejo had a vertical jump of 37, an improvement of 2 1-2 inches from his combine result.
Defensive tackle D.J. Jones had 28 reps in the bench press, close to the 31 reps he’d totaled in training for pro day.D.J. Jones also participated in the combine.

 

OUR OPINION: New Albany program helps engage students

New Albany High School students completed various community service projects throughout the day last week to culminate a new, year-long mentoring program.
Participating students were divided into groups among nine work sites. They helped with beautification work downtown, cleaning at the Boys and Girls Club of New Albany and setting up social media accounts for the Union County Heritage Museum, among other tasks.

The following people were booked into the Lee County-Tupelo Adult Jail in connection with felony charges ending Monday at 11 a.m.
• Christopher Birmingham, 24, of Mooreville, was arrested by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, possession of methamphetamine, no driver’s license, no proof of insurance, expired tag.
