New Albany High School students completed various community service projects throughout the day last week to culminate a new, year-long mentoring program. Participating students were divided into groups among nine work sites. They helped with beautification work downtown, cleaning at the Boys and Girls Club of New Albany and setting up social media accounts for the Union County Heritage Museum, among other tasks. Although their efforts were impactful in and of themselves, they were part of a new program that has been even more meaningful. New Albany High School leaders this year implemented a new freshman mentoring program, called 2020 Vision, as reported by Daily Journal education reporter Emma Crawford Kent.
