A 24-year-old Round Lake Beach man was charged Thursday for selling firearms that were stolen in burglaries in McHenry and Ingleside, the Lake County Sheriff's Office announced Friday.

The Illinois House Transportation: Vehicles and Safety Committee on Wednesday advanced legislation State Representative David McSweeney, R-Barrington Hills, is sponsoring to ban red light cameras in non-home rule communities in Illinois.

 

Johnsburg High Deca team takes home medals

The Johnsburg High School Deca team took home several medals from the recent North Suburban Regional Competition, which was held last Friday at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont.

Deca is an international organization that hosts competitions for high school students in business-related areas. Categories include human resources, marketing, finance and many others. Students compete in role-playing scenarios where they take on the role of a professional in their category and pitch a solution to a scripted problem.

A majority of senators have now expressed unease with Trump's pressure campaign on Ukraine that resulted in the two articles of impeachment.

 

FBI director warns of ongoing Russian 'information warfare'

WASHINGTON (AP) — FBI Director Chris Wray said Wednesday that Russia is engaged in “information warfare” heading into the 2020 presidential election, though he said law enforcement has not seen ongoing efforts by Russia to target America's election infrastructure.

Wray told the House Judiciary Committee that Russia, just as it did in 2016, is relying on a covert social media campaign aimed at dividing American public opinion and sowing discord.

A California woman is wanted by police after they say she rerouted a McHenry County College administrator's paycheck to a potentially forged bank account.

Lois Anne Letterman, 57, of the 10300 block of Western Avenue, Downey, California is charged with theft, forgery and identity theft.
