ATLANTA — Authorities have identified the body found this week in the trunk of a car at a MARTA station.
MARTA police said they received a phone call to check out a car in the parking lot of the H.E. Holmes MARTA station Tuesday morning.
WSB-TV  reports when police opened the car's trunk they found a man's body inside.
MARTA Police identified the victim as 33-year-old Christopher J. Dean of Lithia Springs.

A 57-year-old Augusta man died Wednesday night after a single car crash off a Calhoun Expressway exit ramp.
According to the coroner, Boyce C. Williams, 1700 block of Douglas Street, died at Augusta University Medical Center at 9:14 p.m.
Williams was the sole unrestrained passenger of a 1996 Saturn SL, which was traveling westbound on the Calhoun Expressway, Coroner Mark Bowen said.

Police are investigating a shooting outside of the south Augusta Applebee's restaurant early Tuesday.
Richmond County sheriff's deputies were called to the restaurant parking lot at 2125 Windsor Spring Road about 1 a.m. in reference to shots fired. Witnesses told police they saw several people arguing before a man pulled out a gun and began shooting across the parking lot, according to an incident report.
No one was wounded, but two unoccupied vehicles parked in the lot were struck. Deputies collected nine shell casings from the area.

A jury found Glenn V. Riggs II guilty on all three counts in the November 2013 death of Barnwell surgeon Dr. Charles Mann.
After deliberating for less than an hour, the jury found Riggs guilty on charges of malice murder, felony murder and armed robbery, despite the defense asking the jury to consider an involuntary manslaughter charge instead. Riggs, 24, was sentenced to life without parole for the merged murder counts and 20 years consecutive for the armed robbery charge.

SAVANNAH, Ga. - A federal judge Wednesday refused to order a second extension of Georgia's voter registration deadline in coastal areas that evacuated for Hurricane Matthew.
The decision came just days after the same judge ordered a brief extension for a single storm-stricken county.

NEW YORK - T-Mobile, the country's No. 3 wireless carrier, will pay $48 million for not clearly telling customers how "unlimited" data plans weren't really, well, unlimited.
The Federal Communications Commission said Wednesday that T-Mobile had a policy to slow down the speeds of customers who were the heaviest data users. But the agency said the company didn't let customers know how much data used would trigger the lower speed.
The FCC says T-Mobile started doing a better job with disclosures in June 2015.

This year's nationwide creepy clown craze has become a nightmare before Halloween for actual, working clowns, who say their bookings at parties and other events have dropped sharply, even after many of the social media-fueled scary clown sightings have turned out to be hoaxes.
Some fear going out with their greasepaint makeup and red noses will make them a target of police or even marauding mobs who take to the streets on so-called clown hunts.

The Columbia County Sheriff's Office is looking for a pair of shoplifting suspects.
Around noon Sunday, two black females accompanied by a juvenile entered the Target on Washington Road. According to the incident report, they selected a storage tote and a purse to conceal other items. They exited the store without paying.
Other stolen items included an umbrella stroller and packages of boys T-shirts and boxer briefs.

A University of Georgia student was arrested for impersonating a police officer early Saturday after he called 911 to say he was a lawman in need of assistance on a murder case, Athens-Clarke County police said.
Aaron Patrick Rzucidlo, 20, reportedly told a police dispatcher he was Sheriff Longmire, the protagonist of the Walt Longmire Mystery series of novels adapted for TV.
The UGA student said he “required backup in reference to an unsolved murder case” and needed the assistance of “Deputy Furgeson.”
