By Mike McKinneyPROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Two Providence men allegedly forced their way into a home on Vermont Avenue Wednesday morning then fled in a minivan onto Route 95 north and dumped the van off the highway before officers took them into custody on Allens Avenue. Officers seized a .38-caliber gun that one of the suspects discarded while fleeing and another firearm that was left at the residence at 140 Vermont Avenue, according to the police. The identities of the suspects, both in their 20s, with charges pending, were not available Thursday morning. The police were sent to the residence at 10:27 a.m.
