ATLANTA – It became a three-way race to succeed Rep. Bob Bryant on Friday when Alicia Blakely qualified for the special election before candidate sign-ups closed at noon. Blakely, a longshorewoman identifying as a Democrat, is coming fresh off of a try for a Savannah City Council’s at-large post. She made it to the runoff last November but lost to Brian Foster. She joins businessman Josey Sheppard and Carl Gilliard, CEO of Feed the Hungry.
