Stamford man charged with selling pot

Conklin said police also searched the room of another resident — Mark Anthony Lawson, whose relationship to Johnson is unclear — and found about three-quarters of a pound of marijuana, a digital scale, numerous Ziploc bags and $2,700 in cash.

Lawson, 20, was arrested on a warrant Wednesday charging him with possession of more than 4 ounces of marijuana, sale of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Cops: Stamford ‘sexual predator’ groped 12-year-old girl

STAMFORD — A city man who police described as a “sexual predator” was arrested Tuesday after they said he groped a 12-year-old girl in her apartment building and tried to lure her into an elevator.

Greaves was charged with risk of injury to a minor, first-degree unlawful restraint, fourth-degree sexual assault and breach of peace.

“Sgt. Moran and numerous officers from the patrol should be recognized for responding quickly, coordinating with building management, reviewing CCTV footage and interviewing the victim promptly,” Hohn said.

 

Stamford woman cited for texting before accident

STAMFORD — A woman who slammed into a utility pole during Monday night’s Nor’easter was texting at the time of the accident, police said.

The brother of the driver was angry after his sister snapped the pole because the crash was avoidable, Blanc said.

 

Norwalk man charged with running from police and drugs in Stamford

STAMFORD-A convicted felon from Norwalk was charged with engaging police in pursuit and narcotics possession Saturday night after he allegedly rammed a car while trying to flee from a police stop.

Doctor, who was sent to jail in 2010 for two convictions of attempted armed robbery, was charged with engaging police in pursuit, reckless driving, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of narcotics and sale of certain illegal drugs.

 

Former Stamford woman charged with $50,000 credit card fraud

STAMFORD-A female New Jersey corporate recruiter was charged with illegally charging nearly $50,000 worth of household supplies, women’s clothing and other items on a former work mate’s high finance credit card.

According to the arrest warrant of Ebony Moore, 31, of Maple Shade, New Jersey, police were told that all of the flagged fraudulent Amazon orders were shipped to Moore, who until early 2016 lived on Strawberry Hill Avenue.

After serving a search warrant on Amazon, police discovered 116 Amazon orders shipped to Moore that had been paid for by the American Express card for a total

 

Planning Board budget hearing is Tuesday

The capital proposal would fund a variety of municipal projects, including street resurfacing, Government Center renovations and athletic field upgrades at schools.

The Planning Board edits the capital budget — projects and purchases that have future benefits, as opposed to operating expenses for salaries and other costs of running the city — before it reaches the mayor and Board of Finance.

 

Gun found under porch of West Side home in Stamford

The home is about a quarter mile away from where an 18-year-old city man was shot multiple times in the head in a convenience store on West Main Street Thursday night.

Police typically test whatever firearms they seize and to determine if they have been used in past crimes.

 

Security threatened with needles by shoplifter and escapes in Stamford

Sgt. Sean McGowan said a Saks Off 5th department store asset protection officer said a man was spotted putting two items worth a total of $140 under his jacket and walking past the store registers on his way out just before 4 p.m. Sunday.

The person was stopped outside the store by a security officer who identified himself and told the man he was under suspicion of shoplifting.
