PORTLAND — The Oregon Zoo says an ultrasound of its elephant Rose-Tu shows that her calf is in the right position for the birth expected any day now. The ultrasound Thursday showed the feet entering the birth canal. Elephant babies are born feet-first.

PRINEVILLE, Ore. — The century old Rager Ranger Station in the Ochoco National Forest is closing Friday.
