Cops deserve thanks I’ve completed both citizens police classes (Eugene and Springfield) and I’m here to tell you, I wouldn’t wish to experience what our sworn officers go through each and every day of their careers.

Incidents FRIDAY, JUNE 14 Suspicious subject: 11:02 p.m., 800 block South 31st Place. A man with a dog was reported approaching homes and knocking on doors.

Zumba teacher puts fun in fitness

Lydia Espinoza warns those interested in Zumba classes that the Latin-inspired fitness program is habit-forming. “Zumba is pretty addicting,” she said with a laugh at her downtown fitness studio, On The Move Fitness. Espinoza, 31, teaches all manner of Zumba classes six days a week.

Incidents FRIDAY, JUNE 7 Found property: 10:09 p.m., 1500 block S Street. A caller said he had found a firearm in his house. He said he didn’t know what type of gun it was, and the serial number had been scratched off. Suspicious conditions: 6:21 p.m., 1100 block Pleasant Street.
