Bikes on buses? What? I have noticed numerous times when people use the Lane Transit District buses for bikes. If I’m riding my bike, why on earth would I need a bus? Look, if I’m out getting what I call exercise, why do I need to hop on a bus?

10 students receive chamber scholarships The Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce has awarded 10 scholarships to students from Springfield and Thurston high schools. The freshman year scholarship is awarded to graduating seniors who will attend the University of Oregon or Lane Community College starting this fall.

City sells Glenwood property for hotel

EDITOR’S NOTE: In Case You Missed It is a digest of recent Register-Guard articles of interest to Springfield readers. The City Council voted unanimously Monday to allow the city manager to sell two tax lots in Glenwood to pave the way for private development of a $7 million hotel.
