Palm Coast, Daytona break-ins related, police say

BUNNELL — Flagler County Sheriff’s detectives on Friday released video surveillance footage of two suspects in the recent burglary of a Palm Coast jewelry store who they believe may be linked to at least four similar thefts, including two in Daytona Beach.According to a Sheriff's Office media release, two black men approached the Greg Lynn Jewelers, 101 Flagler Plaza Drive, shortly before 3 a.m. July 10 and one of the men threw a large cinderblock through the window and entered the business.

 

DeLand man charged in thefts of $122,000 in lawn equipment

A DeLand man was arrested Thursday in connection with theft of lawn equipment valued at more than $122,000 from a local business, Volusia sheriff's investigators said.Roderic Fagiole, 36, suspected of being involved in the burglary of the Robinson Tractor Service near DeLand, was charged with two counts of grand theft and three counts of dealing in stolen property.

Volusia deputy disciplined for cursing at middle school students on bus

A Volusia County deputy sent to handle a disturbance on a school bus was reprimanded for cursing at middle school students while waving handcuffs in their faces, sheriff's Internal Affairs reports state.Deputy Joshua Sheen told investigators “I educated them” but admitted he messed up since he used profane language while lecturing the middle school students, reports show.Sheen, who has been working with the Volusia County Sheriff's Office since October 2013, had not had any previous disciplinary issues or commendations during his employment, sheriff's spokesman Gary Davidson said

 

Ceremony marks opening of expanded campground in Flagler Beach

Campers now have twice as good of a chance at getting a camping spot at Gamble Rogers Memorial State Recreation Area at Flagler Beach.State and local officials, residents and special guests turned out this week to dedicate the expanded campground area at the popular park on State Road A1A."It means greater opportunities for the public," said Barbara Roberts, park manager.

How did Tenn. gunman go from typical suburban life to attack?

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - Counterterrorism investigators are trying to figure out why a 24-year-old Kuwait-born man who seemingly had a typical suburban American upbringing attacked two U.S. military sites in a shooting rampage that left four Marines dead.
Muhammad Youssef Abdulazeez of Hixson, Tennessee, did not appear to have been on the radar of federal authorities before the bloodshed Thursday, officials said, and they were still searching for a motive.
