Springfield lawyer Mickey Kicklighter has announced he is running for the Superior Court judgeship being vacated by Robbie Turner in the Ogeechee Circuit.
The Ogeechee Circuit is comprised of Bulloch, Effingham, Jenkins and Screven counties. The election is May 24.

 

Candidates qualify in Effingham

Qualifying began Monday for Effingham elections in the May 24 general primary and Nov. 8 general election and so far there are no big surprises.
Many of the candidates announced their intentions to run before qualifying began.

 

FBI agents investigated over shots fired during standoff

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — FBI agents involved in the traffic stop that led to the killing of one of the armed occupiers of an Oregon wildlife refuge are under investigation for not disclosing they fired shots that missed Robert "LaVoy" Finicum, authorities said Tuesday.

 

Police seek 2 in southside Savannah armed robbery

Savannah-Chatham police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred Monday evening just after 8:30 p.m. near a hotel on the 7500 block of White Bluff Road.Metro responded to the scene after two victims, reportedly traveling with a tour group, were walking back from a nearby restaurant. As the victims approached the hotel, two male subjects approached them, robbing them at gunpoint. One suspect struck one of the victims before fleeing on foot from the scene.
