A metal bike lock shaped like a grenade prompted Bend police to evacuate the Deschutes County library on Wall Street and close off a square block for a half hour today.The block between Louisiana and Kansas avenues along with the library was closed between 11:40 a. m. and 12:10 p. m.A woman found the lock in bushes on the building west side and moved it to an outside trash can, then reported the find to Bend police.

A 17-year-old was punched in the face and robbed by another teen whom he had arranged to meet to sell an iPod on Tuesday, according to Bend Police.The victim, a Redmond resident who was house-sitting in Bend, had placed an ad on Craigslist.
