Judge accepts Manafort’s resignation as Connecticut lawyer

HARTFORD, Conn. — A Connecticut judge has accepted former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort’s proposal to permanently give up his right to practice law in the state amid disbarment proceedings.
Judge David Sheridan in Hartford on Tuesday also issued a finding of misconduct related to Manafort’s guilty pleas in special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation of Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.

 

Professional bull rider dies after rodeo injury in Denver

DENVER — A professional bull rider died after being injured during a competition at the annual National Western Stock Show in Denver.
The Professional Bull Riders Association said Mason Lowe died Tuesday evening.
Lowe, 25, of Exeter, Missouri, was ranked 18th in the world.
The association extended its condolences to his wife and family.

 

School board sues over decision blocking armed staffers

JONESVILLE, Va. — A Virginia county school board is suing the state after the superintendent was denied a designation allowing him to carry guns on school property — part of a plan to allow armed staffers at schools.
News outlets report the lawsuit was filed Tuesday in Lee County Circuit Court.
