Duxbury Senior Center hosts first Veteran's Day breakfast

A full house of veterans from Duxbury attended the town's first annual Veteran's Day appreciation breakfast at the Senior Center on Tuesday, Nov. 12. All branches of the military were represented at the breakfast, including veterans from the Worl War II era and the Iraq/Afghanistan wars.

 

Bulger victims' kin call him 'terrorist,' 'Satan' at hearing

The families of people killed by South Boston crime boss James “Whitey” Bulger and his gang finally got the chance Wednesday to tell Bulger how his long reign of terror damaged their lives, calling him a “terrorist,” a “punk” and even “Satan.”

 

Milton teacher gets $25,000 for being 'one of the best' in U.S.

Like every other teacher at Pierce Middle School in Milton, math teacher James Moonan led his students into the gymnasium Wednesday knowing nothing about why they had been assembled. But the reason soon became clear. An official from the Milken Family Foundation had flown in because someone in the school had been identified as one of the nation’s top educators and would be receiving $25,000 with no strings attached.

 

Irish invited to share their heritage at Road Show in Canton

The Irish Immigrant Experience Mass. Memories Road Show takes place Saturday at the Irish Cultural Centre in Canton. All Massachusetts residents who are Irish immigrants or whose ancestors came from Ireland are welcome to come tell their stories and bring family photos and other mementos related to the Irish immigration.
