Thieves lose stolen safe during chase by Sterling Heights police

Sterling Heights police are searching for the thieves who stole a safe from a pharmacy and led police on an early-morning chase before the safe fell out of the getaway truck.The incident happened about 4:30 a.m. Sunday when officers were called to Sunshine Pharmacy on the 43000 block of Hayes Road near 19 Mile to respond to a burglar alarm, police said in a news release.

L'Anse Creuse grad testifies alleged classmate's remark 'scared us'

A former L'Anse Creuse High School student twice told students not to attend school March 14, once saying he would shoot up the school, according to a fellow classmate.Frank Dalecke, who graduated from L'Anse Creuse High School Central in Harrison Township last month, testified Monday in 41B District Court in Clinton Township the alleged statements made earlier this year by Andrew Ison of Harrison Township put him in fear for himself and the school.
