CNN today fired anchor Rick Sanchez a day after Sanchez assailed The Daily Show host Jon Stewart as a "bigot" and suggested that CNN and the other networks are run by Jews. Sanchez made his rant Thursday on the Sirius XM radio show "Stand Up! with Pete Dominick". CNN acted within 24 hours. "Rick Sanchez is no longer with the company. We thank Rick for his years of service and we wish him well," the Time Warner cable news channel said in a statement. Sanchez recently lost his afternoon show on CNN Rick's List, which is being replaced by CNN Newsroom. The Daily Show considered Sanchez an intellectual lightweight compared to CNN stars Anderson Cooper and Wolf Blizter and made him the butt of jokes, which Sanchez resented and thought was racist. (He's Hispanic.)

British TV host Piers Morgan will take over Larry King's prime-time hour with "a candid, in-depth newsmaker interview program" starting in January, CNN announced Wednesday.

ABC News President David Westin, the longest-reigning U.S. television network news division chief, with more than 13 tumultuous years on the job, told his staff Monday that he is resigning and will leave by the end of the year.

Iconic TV interviewer Larry King will step aside from hosting his prime-time CNN show this fall, he said. King said he will still be hosting specials on CNN.

Fox News' Bret Baier interrupted President Obama so many times during Wednesday's interview that Newsweek described the enounter as a "interrupt-a-thon."

Baier acknowledged his repeated interjections at the end of the interview, by interrupting the president once more to apologize. Baier told Obama "I apologize for interrupting you, sir.

Switching letters. Kate Snow has a date with Dateline. The ABC News and Good Morning America Weekend co-anchor is leaving ABC for a job with NBC News.

CBS News is cutting jobs among at its news-gathering bureaus and TV shows, as it grapples with declining revenue.

Charles Gibson, who Friday retires from the "World News" anchor desk and from ABC as a full-time employee, is bowing out as more than an admired network news star.  At 66, he's a proven utility player, game to handle a range of positions and scramble to the rescue when needed.

There was more laughter than tears on Friday as "Good Morning America" bid farewell to the anchor who has helmed the morning news show's desk for the past ten years.
