We hope you weren't counting too heavily on Jurassic Park 4 making its projected summer 2014 release date, because it looks like Universal has gone back to the drawing board...at least temporarily. The news, as it so often does these days, leaked via Twitter, where Digital Asset Manager Todd Smoyer and Concept Artist Dean Sherriff shared JP4's delay with varying degrees of unhappiness and/or panic. In Smoyer's words, "Hollywood makes and crushes dreams. Goodbye JP4." Sherriff was a little less visibly upset, simply tweeting, "Jp4 on hold."

Disney has been pretty slow to release official information about its slate of upcoming Star Wars sequels, but nobody gets out of CinemaCon without making a few big announcements, and this one's sort of a doozy, albeit in classically circumspect Mouse House fashion: Episode VII is indeed coming to theaters in 2015, with a new Star Wars-related film to follow every summer.

Star Wars fans have more than just Episodes 7, 8 and 9 to look forward to. Disney CEO Bob Iger said at the annual shareholders meeting in Phoenix on Wednesday that the company is developing "some standalone movies" featuring Star Wars characters.

'Universal Soldier 4: Day Of Reckoning,' the sixth film in the franchise, features a dash of Dolph, a splash of Van Damme, and Scott Adkins, who deserves better.

Back in June, Sigourney Weaver revealed that the three Avatar sequels are going to be shooting back-to-back-to-back, but it looks like that's no longer the case. Speaking with the Courier Post (via Comingsoon), producer Jon Landau said “[w]e doing two back-to-back, but not a third.”

James Cameron will start writing the scripts for two "Avatar" sequels early next year, aiming to land the first one in theaters four years from now. Executives at 20th Century Fox announced Wednesday that Cameron has settled on two sequels to the blockbuster hit as his next film projects with plans to begin production in late 2011.

"Iron Man 2" rocketed into domestic multiplexes with an estimated $7.5 million from its 12:01 a.m. Friday performances.

In an announcement that should surprise absolutely no one, James Cameron has told a Q&A audience that there will be an "Avatar" sequel.
