The director confirmed he has stepped away from the potential project with Angelina Jolie.

"Zoolander 2" is one of those projects that we here at MTV News have been dying to see for, oh, the past nine years. And, lately, there have been an orange-mocha-frappucino-ful of reasons to believe that the wait for a sequel to the 2001 male-supermodel hit might soon be over.

Remember that summer news about the Bourne franchise getting a new film? Back in June, word hit that director and screenwriter Tony Gilroy -- of 'Michael Clayton' and 'Duplicity' fame -- was going to write and direct a fourth entry in the series, tentatively titled 'The Bourne Legacy.' Obviously, this is a new continuation outside of Matt Damon and Paul Greengrass -- both of whom wiped their hands of the world after 'The Bourne Ultimatum.'

The Monkey King character from Chinese folklore will be revived in a $60 million 3-D blockbuster starring Donnie Yen and Chow Yun-fat, as local filmmakers try to match the massive success of "Avatar" by launching their own productions in the new format.

"The Hobbit's" New Zealand saga finally appears to be over. The nation's prime minister, John Key, announced Wednesday that his government had reached an agreement with the producers of the two "Hobbit" movies to keep the $500-million production in his country.

James Cameron will start writing the scripts for two "Avatar" sequels early next year, aiming to land the first one in theaters four years from now.
