A Savannah man on Thursday was sentenced to 10 years in prison - with one to serve - for his role in a May 2015 robbery of a Domino’s Pizza delivery man and carjacking of his Mini Cooper convertible. Marion Savar Lagler, 18, must serve the remainder of his sentence on probation and will be allowed First Offender Act status under a negotiated plea before Chatham County Superior Court Judge Penny Haas Freesemann. Assistant District Attorney Isabel Pauley told the judge the agreed-to resolution included pleas to charges of robbery by intimidation - reduced from armed robbery - and possession of a firearm during the commission of the felony. A co-defendant, Marquel Williams, 20, also pleaded guilty in the case, but after Pauley dismissed the indictment charges and substituted felony counts of fleeing and eluding police, tampering with evidence and theft by taking a vehicle. Williams pleaded guilty to all three counts in return for a 10-year sentence with one to serve and the remainder on probation. Pauley told the judge that a third co-defendant, Deandre Jones, 16 at the time, and the man identified as the gunman, is expected to enter a guilty plea in the case.
