Thank you to the Sun Sentinel for sharing the Jewish Journal with your readers. This important periodical often includes heartbreaking stories from Holocaust survivors, most of whom were children during World War II, as the war ended nearly 80 years ago. Undoubtedly, their stories share common themes, initially of the horrors of war and the Holocaust, but also incredible heroism, unimaginable perseverance, survival, growth and love. As we celebrate the Jewish New Year, their memories are again renewed as their stories are retold, which gives me a greater appreciation for the freedoms we have, for the brave men and women (and children) who were able to persevere through terrible struggles, and for our armed forces (and our allies), many of whom also made ultimate sacrifices to free people from the atrocities of bondage and genocide. We remember and say Never Again! Marc Wigder, Boca Raton The writer is a Boca Raton city council member. More Marlins coverage I realize South Florida is a football town.
