Five years after his first motorcycle race, Carson Eads is headed to the biggest amateur motocross event in the country. The 15-year-old from Kingsport recently qualified for the Rocky Mountain AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship at the Loretta Lynn Ranch in Hurricane Mills. The Sullivan Central student made it to the national championships — commonly referred to as “the Lorettas” — by qualifying at the Southeast Area Regional Qualifier at the South of the Border MX in Hamer, South Carolina, on June 14-16. At 10 years old, Eads first started racing at the Appalachian Fairgrounds in the Hot Summer Nights Supercross Series.
