Hundreds of rioters mad about the verdict in the trial of a white former police officer who fatally shot an unarmed black man stormed the streets of downtown Oakland on Thursday night, police said.

Kevin Smith, the creator of movies like Clerks, Dogma, and the upcoming Cop Out, posted a series of angry, sarcastic messages on his Twitter feed blasting Southwest Airlines for allegedly throwing him off a flight after he had already been seated and buckled in.

The San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge will reopen Monday, a California transportation official said.

A fourth Oakland police officer who was critically wounded after being shot by a man wanted on a parole violation has been taken off life support, a hospital spokeswoman said.

Three officers and a suspect are dead and another officer is in grave condition after related shootings, the police said.
