CHURCH HILL — The long ball made a big difference in Tuesday’s District 1-AAA softball tournament games at Volunteer. Daniel Boone, behind five home runs, rolled over Dobyns-Bennett 13-4. Science Hill used a big fly to deep center field to win 6-3 over David Crockett. LADY ’TOPPERS UNFAZED The start was not ideal for Science Hill, which allowed the Lady Pioneers to get three runs off four errors in the first inning. “In that first inning, we couldn’t catch the ball and that led to their three runs,” Science Hill coach Jerry Higgins said.
