KINGSPORT — A tentative settlement has been reached in a lawsuit between Kingsport Power and Bristol Tennessee Essential Services (BTES) that could affect who will supply electricity to the new Sullivan County high school. The agreement was confirmed in an email sent by Kingsport Power spokesman John Shepelwich, but the details have not yet been released. The two sides were scheduled to meet Thursday in Sullivan County Circuit Court on Kingsport Power’s motion to dismiss BTES’ lawsuit to take by eminent domain any parcels of land that are included in the school site.
