At least, it was for me — until two of my younger family members died unexpectedly. To keep it affordable, I opted for term life insurance, which only costs me about $30 a month for $300,000 in coverage for the next 40 years. For less than it costs me to insure my car, my family is now taken care of in case I die unexpectedly. Life insurance will never be cheaper than right now.
