By Ryan Quinn The West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission Friday reauthorized all public four-year colleges and private institutions in the state - save for West Virginia and Marshall universities, which are exempt from the annual requirement, and one for-profit institution that commissioners noted concerns with. Commissioners unanimously voted to defer the reauthorization of Salem International University - a Harrison County institution with about 600 students - for consideration at their May meeting, when Salem is expected to give a progress report on improvements in its graduation rate and other areas.
