By Rusty Marks Kanawha County's animal shelter has set up temporary shop in a Camp Virgil Tate horse barn until state and local officials clear up a massive landslide at Yeager Airport."It's not an ideal situation, but it's better than a flood," said animal shelter director Chelsea Staley on Friday, as a steady stream of volunteers walked dogs in the rain and mud to give them a break from the cramped, temporary cages in which they were being housed. On Thursday, the Kanawha-Charleston Humane Association evacuated more than 200 dogs and a smaller number of cats from the shelter, located on Greenbrier Street, because of flooding concerns.
