Google is transferring the Gemini app team, led by Sissie Hsiao, as part of a restructure under the umbrella of the Google DeepMind group and the leadership of Demis Hassabis. A blog update on Thursday from Google and Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai confirmed the changes. Last year, the U.S. tech powerhouse embarked on a major reorganization of select operations, including the merger of Google Brain and DeepMind into a new unit known as Google DeepMind. It is the team now responsible for the development of AI at Google, with responsibility for Gemini, the company’s most advanced AI offering.
