An anonymous swimmer has been branded a hero after saving a teenage girl from the jaws of a 12-foot-long shark off the coast of western Australia by grabbing it by the tail, the BBC is reporting. Nineteen-year-old Elyse Frankcom was leading a tourist group on a snorkeling trip with dolphins Saturday near Garden Island, about 30 miles from Perth, when a shark -- believed to have been a great white -- bit her in the hip area.
