Amarillo police are investigating a report of gunshots in the area new Northwest 11th Avenue and Van Buren Street and a perimeter has been set up.
The area near Northwest 11th Avenue and Jackson Street is closed to traffic currently.
No other details are yet known.

Amarillo City Council members said they are displeased with the lack of customer service shown by city employees to residents who have been calling to discuss their water bills.
Customers who contacted the city after receiving a higher-than-normal water bill in August claim that their concerns were ignored and brushed off by city employees working in the water utility department.
Many customers said they were left with the option of either paying a bill they disagreed with or having their water shut off.

A local political action committee has formed to support the city’s seven bond propositions slated for the Nov. 8 election.
Unite for Amarillo, a group of of about 50 residents and business owners from all parts of the city, formed to educate voters about why their vote in favor of the $340 million in capital improvements is important, member Steve Pair said.
To date, Unite for Amarillo is the only political action committee to officially register, city spokeswoman Sonja Gross said.

Anthony Urias, 22, of Dalhart, died Tuesday morning in a one-vehicle crash on Farm-to-Market Road 1727 in Dallam County, reported the Texas Department of Public Safety.
DPS said that Uria was driving a 2007 GMC Sierra pickup truck westbound on FM-1727 approximately 10 miles northwest of Dalhart when he apparently fell asleep, veered to the left of the roadway, then over-corrected, causing him to lose control.
The truck rolled several times and Urias was ejected. He was transported to Coon Memorial Hospital in Dalhart, where he later died.

Amarillo Municipal Court’s afternoon docket today has been set aside especially for veterans who may have a traffic ticket, warrant, pending charge, municipal violation, citation or other court business relating to the City of Amarillo who want to meet with the court to address these issues.
The first-time special veterans-only docket from 1 to 5 p.m. today is the result of a partnership between the VA’s Veteran Justice Outreach program and the City of Amarillo.
